Why cant I play my burned DVD+R movies on my toshiba SD1700?

I used intervideo DVD Creator 3 on Vista (I ran the program on vista as a XP program) to create the movie and burn the DVD. I used a hot memorix DVD+R. My dvd player is a toshiba SD1700.

The DVDs worked on my laptop and desktop?

Any suggestions? Like what software to use and what brand of DVD+r's I should use?

My friend made a home movie using pinnicle software and burned that to a SONY DVD+R. That DVD played on my DVD burner.

If I need a codec or other software, where on earth can I find it?

Answers:    The Toshiba review site I looked at reported that your player DOES support DVD-R playback. The question is: 1) what algorithm and 2) what combination. I'd look at the owner's almanac real upright. There's a link to the .pdf folder below:
well i enjoy the same prob and i enjoy a different program they won't play on my moms DVD but will play on min and i would say try buying a cheep DVD resembling 25 to 35 dollars like a apex i estimate they work
