Dvd player?

I have a 42" 720p small screen.I am looking for a dvd palyer that will be compatible (up to 720p), but not overkill.I saw a DVD player(denon) that output 1080i(I thought this technology was obsolete). I could not find any dvd players that output 720.

I enjoy also seen players(toshiba) that "upconvert" to 1080p.What is upconverting ?

Wat would you do?

Answers:    1080i is the newer standard. 720p is lower resolution. Most electronics will auto adjust for the best possible resolution respectively is capable of (or they will find the lowest adjectives denominator). DVD's are dirt cheap now - don't verbs about upconversion - your tv isn't competent of displaying 1080i resolution. Upconverting is "filling in" where on earth there isn't signal.
e.g. 720p channel there are 720 lines per inch, shown within a progressive display. If you try to upconvert to 1080i (interlaced), then your equipment will hold to convert 720 to 1080 & fill surrounded by the missing lines, based on near ones.
