I received a somewhat broken pair of computer speakers from my friend. They are M-Audio Studiophile DX4 (pretty nice). They have somehow blown the amplfier inside and had hack them (torn out all the chipset), and be just using the speakers themselves beside the red/white wires. The problem with this is that they aren't as loud they used to be minus the internal amp, you can't change the volume on the front, and the woofers don't work (those are the little speakers on top, right?)
What I'm presently trying to do is figure out how I can go and get these working like formerly. Do I just call for to buy a new amp?
Requirements:
1. Must know how to plug into my computer
2. Adjust volume (either on speaker or amp)
3. Use the woofers (the little thing above the larger speaker)
4. Cost underneath $30 to fix
Answers: you cant
