Can you replace a dvd player drive next to a computer one?
Answers: no. the with the sole purpose way that could be replaced would be to convey it to the factory. you would be better off buying a spanking new one. they arent that expensive anyway... the way a DVD drive contained by a computer hooks up is through either an IDE cable or (newer ones) SATA cable. this is what plugs into the motherboard of the computer and sends the signals and information from the drive through the motherboard/processor/other components where on earth it is processed and eventually you get to see it on your monitor. surrounded by contrast, a stand-alone DVD player is just that, a single section. it has adjectives of its own components specifically built to decode the video signal (as read stale the dvd) and output it to the tv where you can eventually keep under surveillance some stuff blow up and james bond always getting his man... and the girl.. hope that help you understand why you cant put the dvd drive from your computer into a stand-alone dvd player
Yes but undergo such a project would be more of a hobby then a solution because the hardware required to cause it work would far outcost buying a new player, seriously DVD players are cheap and custom programmed EEPROMs are not and that alone would be the lowest of yoru worries as DVD rom drives are mechanically dissimilar to home dvd players surrounded by many ways, usually contained by the way the disc spindle is out of stock. I say if you are a graduate student of MIT, majoring in complex assembly programming and microcircuit design, progress for it it might be a fun project otherwise just pony up the dough for a fresh one.
