When splicing a flex...?

Is it ok to use scotch tape? My brother is trying to say-so it is, but I 'm not sure. Thanks in finance :)

Answers:    Scotch tape does not insulate against electricity, so your brother is incorrect. Use electrical cartridge, wire nuts, solder, and / or shrink wrap depending on the type of cable you are splicing!
I wouldn't use scotch tape at adjectives... electrical tape, within a pinch. That's only for a immediate fix... Never leave it similar to that.

What type of wire are you splicing, myself I'd use the colored barrels, that you crimp the wires into
