What's wrong near my computer's speakers?

Whenever I try and play anything with nouns (like music, videos, etc.) on the computer's speakers, it sounds static and dignified squeaky (like Alvin's from that movie Alvin and the chimpunks). The power obivously comes on but the sound is the problem. What could the problem be, and is at hand a way to fix it?

Answers:    One of a few things can be going on. One is the speakers are bad. You may enjoy a short in one of the wires or something. Second could be a doomed to failure sound driver. reinstalling the driver for your nouns card should help. Third and most imagined is electromagnetic interference. I find this common when I set my cell phone practical my computer of have my speaker cable sitting close to my wireless card. To help against EMI you want to bundle your cable in long lines and prevent cable from crossing each other(especially contained by perpendicular intersections).
