American to UK Plug!?

I've purchased a oral B toothbrush from the US and purchsed an adaptor from the UK to convert the plug! But the US plug will not fit into the UK adaptor! Can any one help? Its seem to be a normal 2 flat pin plug but have a slight curved point: (this is the only channel i can display it) ===o=]

Thanks.

Answers:    the brush you have is of late an ornament dont plug it within. the reason the plug will not plug surrounded by is because it is a safeguard to stop people electrocuting themselves near the different voltage USA 110 UK 240 volts
the problenm is, if you purchased the brush in the us, it will be designed to operate on 11volts 60hz ac

surrounded by the uk, mains voltage is more than double that at 240 volts 50hz ac

bottom file - you are lucky you could not plug it in within the uk - the brush will fry!
I'd say you necessitate a converter, not an adapter. And that "curved" point may be the earthed/grounded side, though you don't usually see it on an electric toothbrush.

My advice- buy a toothbrush at home and save that one for your subsequent trip abroad.
as it is a bathroom addition then it may fit into a shaving socket some bathrooms own them already installed and you can flip a switch to change the voltage.
