I bought my son a electric car from toys r us and its seriously underpowered. I niggardly it won't go up even the slightest incline. Its terminal speed is fine once it get going but it just stops at the slightest hump. I've charged it to the max to no avail. Can I put a larger motor contained by? Its useless as it just get stuck all the time and I touch sorry for the boy as he cannot use his crimbo pressie (its 6v by the way) Many thanks
Answers: Hobby stores flog all kind of motors for just that purpose. Take the saloon to the hobby store and they should be able to give a hand you find one that will physically fit and give the saloon the power it needs.
6V is a terrifically low voltage rating, so I'm not surprised that it is underpowered. Just like cordless foot tools, the higer the voltage, the more torque the motor can create (and the better the car will climb up hills).
I'm sure there's a motor out in attendance for your application.
it is either a unpromising design or is malfunctioning - take it pay for is my recommendation.
BTW enjoy you ever seen one of this model in fact perform better - that might consent to you determine if the problem is the design or the specific one you have.
