Even as recent as 5 or 6 years ago, Sony was the ace electronics company, anything they made be top notch, conserve packed full of functions and features other brands' devices never have and were rugged and long persistent to boot, but then something happen and they are now as crummy as Emerson or White-Westinghouse! What happen to them is what I could never tell, did they hold some executive scandal, or did one of their founders pass away and they lost the end guy who knew how to do things right? Did they sink a bunch of money into some brand new project and lost their shirts when it failed? I can't see how the electronics company that used to own the best incarnation of whatever electronic device I needed (and often times be the people who invented it) and usually made the best example of any electronic gadget you feel like buying have plummeted from being the creme de la creme to a company noted for its mediocre cell phones and overpriced video spectator sport consoles that cause riots...
