Speaker electrics?

I have a set of two of old SoundTech 12" Floor monitors. The dual 1/4 inch jacks broke on one. I hold another plate with 1/4 inputs to replace it. My grill is; on the original here is a small circuit board attached to the backside of the two jacks. The jacks I have to replce it do not own this circuit. What is it, what does it do, and do I need it?

Answers:    It's any a convenient way to connect the two jacks together or, if it have other components, it's a crossover.

If you want the speakers to work the same, you'll own to have it. The upright news is that adjectives you have to do is chain the new jacks to the board. You don't own to have very jacks -- just be paid the same connections using short wires -- tip to tip, etc.
