Does the 40gb ps3 play average dvds and audio cds?



Answers:    yes, but not PS2 games as there is no hardware or software emulation of the Emotion Engine.
The 40GB Playstation 3 can play Region-free dvds middle-of-the-road CDs, Superaudio CD, bluraydiscs. and logically region-free(from any country) PS3 games

You can also rip CDs to the ps3 hard drive, not dvds.
