After connecting, do i requirement to do anything else on my computer to watch video on my tv? Thanks for your minister to.

Answers:    They sell S-Video to RCA adapters, and consequently you need a headphone to RCA adapter for audio. Once the cable are plugged in you stipulation to go to Control Panel, Display, and set the 2nd output (TV) to 800 x 600 resolution and you should be adjectives set.
In composite video, there are two components to the video. (Actually, in attendance are more, but unimportant to this issue.) There is the black & white video information, and next encoded color information. If you were to see simply the color information onscreen, it would be colorful, but make positively no sense. In any case, surrounded by a composite RCA connector, luminance and color are combined to travel on one pin.

In S-video, the color is separate from the luminance, which allows more bandwidth and less embarrassment of the video . (Dot crawl on sharp vertical images is one example of loss of face.)

Now, you would think that simply combining the two pins, 1 for luminance, and 1 for color, would bring you subsidise to composite video again. Essentially you would be correct. But the low quality of color video that lead to S-video in the first place would be fund, AND since it's just a cheap hack situation, it would be a little worse, too. Still, for home purposes, you can probably procure away with it. It's adjectives up to YOU how bad it looks to you. It will be usable, but deeply poorer quality than you're used to seeing on your computer.

Since I, as a purist, don't approve of such hack, and have little necessitate of them, I can't say where on earth to buy an S-video To Composite adapter. I CAN say, however, not to be misled by those who'll get rid of you a "hi-quality adapter cable" for $25. There is no such thing. I wouldn't foot over $10, if that much.

Since cheap conversion quality is what you're going to receive, and there is beyond question about that, afterwards cheap prices is what you should pay. The cheapest will be purely as good for your purposes. Go to Best Buy or Wal~Mart or some such, and find the cheapest S-video To Composite adapter, or cable, you can find.
