Answers: For under $300, I'd recommend the Garmin nuvi 260, which very soon sells for $264 on amazon. Although adjectives GPS models will get you eventually to where on earth you want to go, I have an idea that that Garmin picks the fastest and most convenient routes, and gives the most detailed directions.
With the nuvi 260, you carry text-to-speech, which means that it give you the street name contained by addition to unfolding you to turn right or left. The Garmin also tell you whether the place you are going to is on the left or right side of the road. Some other GPS models don't, so after you go and get there, you still don't know where on earth "there" is.
At this price, you don't get features similar to Bluetooth, MP3 and traffic updates, which most people don't involve anyway.

I bought the Garmin c330 and the Tom Tom one so I have them both at the same time. They be about $175.00 for respectively, its just a novice one for me. I compared the two and I ended up keeping the Tom Tom One, it have more features and the maps be more updated. The Garmin c330 was bigger and the Tom Tom be thinner and I can carry it within my purse. They make more expensive models contained by the Garmin which I heard be better than the cheaper one I bought--so you get what you payment for. I hope this helps
