Auto shut-off lighting switches?

Where can I buy light switches for uninteresting use which have some sort of timer device to shut off after some time? Any design for simple modifications in a toggle switch? Thyristor circuits are too bulky...


Answers:    You can use a motion-sensing restrained switch like the one contained by the link below. They are available at most home stores. They enjoy an adjustable timer built in that let you set how long they stay on after sensing motion. Most also let you turn it on using the switch -- but I'm not sure if it turns past its sell-by date automatically with the instruction manual switch (may vary by mfgr).

Modifying something might be cheaper, but if there's a fire, your insurance company will find the mod and won't compensate you, since you didn't have something that be code approved. Cheaper in the long run to walk with a switch close to this that already has adjectives of the required safety approvals...
