220 VT, 3PH, Recepticals?

I have several sewing machines which verbs 1.8 AMPS each, can I run several on one circuit ? or will this produce an imbalance within the voltage ?
Thanks,
Steve

Answers:    To calculate the number of machines you will call for total rated wattage of the outlet or the distribution box you are using.

Read the wattage mentioned on the 220 outlet or the distribution box.
For e.g. if the wattage of the distribution box is 1800, you can without risk run upto 4 machines. 1800/(220 x 1.8). If the machines are operating intermittently, you can run one more.

Amps = Watts / Volts
1800/ 220 = 8.2 Amps
Number of machines = 8.2/1.8 i.e. 4.5 or 4 (can't round rotten to 5)

It is safer, however, not to exceed 95% of the rated power of the wall outlet and the distribution box to allow for heat and other losses.

Keep in mind that any equipment you connect after the wall outlet must be capable of handle the total power it supplies.
