Questions roughly GPS systems?

Which is best: Garmin, Tom Tom, Mio, or something else?
Is there a monthly charge that is required to use it?
Where do you install them surrounded by the car? The hurry, winshield?
Thanks for your answers.

Answers:    I've had a Garmin for a couple of years and outstandingly recommend them. Mio is low end stuff, the TomTom I hear is a apposite system. But I can only recommend what I know for sure the Garmin is correct. They have nice features similar to being competent to add custom Points of interest ie. Starbucks, H-D dealer etc. so when you are traveling you can find what you want. And if when you get it and it doesn't come next to the most up to date maps they will transport you a DVD with the hottest maps for free, I've hear bad stories of other brands that come next to old map and want to charge a lot for the most up-to-date maps.
