Answers: barcodes, same channel they work when the cashier scan them, that send rotten an electrical charge, works the same approach.
Some of them are magnetic. There are small magnets on the cards that trigger the alarm. I'm not sure if to be exact how all of them work though. There might be more than only just this one method.
