.avi files?

i put some videos onto my mp3 player and i try to keep watch on them but for some reason solitary a few of them play. the rest say "video format not supported." adjectives of them are .avi files, and my mp3 player is supposed to support them. are there different types of avi?

Answers:    Yeah - AVIs can give somebody a lift different Codecs - you need to look at the properties of the files.

The two solutions would be to any install the codec on the player (this would be ideal), or to convert the AVI files to a codec that your player recognises (this is a bad view, as the quality will be worse as it will enjoy gone through 2 forms of compression, and the main sense it's a bad opinion is that it's a right ball ache).

Good luck.
