Answers:    DVD players do not connect to cable boxes only DVD recorder do. If that is what you are trying to ask close this cross-question and ask again or look at my other answers on this subject by clicking my icon and looking at my answers.

If you want to connect a DVD player and a cable box to a TV that have only one composite video/stereo audio input use a AV (Audio Video) Switch found within consumer electronics stores and departments selling those items in other stores.

If you TV have no such inputs connect the DVD player video and audio output to an RF modulator. Connect the coax input side of the RF modulator to the coax coming from the cable box and the output of the RF modulator to the TV. Or use an antenna switch for better quality (keeps both signals direct to the TV via the switch).
