Do I hook up capacitors within series or parallel to double mfd rating?
Answers: As the first poster stated capacitors in parallel will double the mfd.
ie 10mfd +10mfd within parallel will give you 20mfd
parallel
neither. base on your description, more detail is needed to evaluate the circuit in examine. Also I would post this in the engineering portion of Answers and not here.
more habitually than not you will see answers that do not work since most here are not theory champion.
edit: it appear there is for a while confusion to the matter of in recent times what the question is so here is some clarification on capacitance.
the convenience of capacitance is represented with the farad (f) adjectives notations for these include the micro farad (μf) and the pico farad (ρf).
the method of capacitive calculation is exactly the converse of resistance.
in series use the one over one over method, and surrounded by parallel just donate the values together.
HOWEVER my first interpretation of the question be in regard to the PIV rating on a CAP which will require a little more thought and totalling on your part.
Personal injury can result near the improper (PIV) rate value of panama.
