Help beside burning a dvd?

Im trying to burn a film to dvd via laptop. It says in attendance is not enough space on the dvd...can i compress it or anything so that i can still burn it and see it on a regular dvd player?

Answers:    John n is, essentially, correct. Although, rather than getting another app. to do the opportunity, check the quality settings within your burning software. I suspect you'll find that you're attempting to burn the movie in glorious quality, onto a 4.7gb dvd. If this IS the satchel, it won't work, as a 1.5hr movie in HQ requires contained by the region of 8gb of space.

Instead, reset the movie quality to 'standard'; you should find that it will very soon burn onto a 4.7gb disc quite merrily - and you will notice no difference contained by quality on playback surrounded by a standard dvd player (ensure the player is dvd+/- r enabled).

Enjoy
Get dvd shrink and remove the extra languages and your movie will fit on a dvd. The copy of the movie will be readable surrounded by regular dvd players.
