I am interested contained by the Best GPS Which one is better? Tom Tom or Garmin???
Answers: Both TomTom and Garmin are thoroughly good navigation systems, but which one you choose depends on your requirements. Garmin is more straightforward, gives directions okay, but is very dependable. TomTom have a lot more features, such as copy your own voice, what kind of coup¨¦ you're driving on the screen, things close to that. From TomTom, you can also make and answer phone call from the speaker, which is a plus, but the sound aspect isn't the best. I hope this helps!
This is the best and cheapest (in my opinion):
I use the Tom Tom One 3rd Edition (Tele Atlas) and close to it. Before I bought mine, I did searches and saw greatly few bad comments give or take a few it -- mostly that there should be more information within the quick start guide (the full instruction manual is on their website -- not in the package). The section is ready to use out of the box and the map are detailed -- I even found one-lane gravel roads were tabled and named on the TomTom map. If you want to, you can easily connect this GPS to your computer and download updates from TomTom for free (as commonly as you want -- every week if you want to). In October a consumer magazine rated it a best buy after trialling over a dozen units (there be several units that be rated difficult -- but they were more expensive).
It is powered by the saloon cigarette lighter; the GPS is small enought to fit in your pocket and will run for several hours (longer if you turn the brightness and volume down / off) on the internal battery-operated. The speaker (you have a choice of several different voices) is clear and loud -- here is also a setting to have the volume increase as your speed increases. Businesses are included within the points of interests (gas stations, car dealer, hospitals, parks, police and fire stations, etc.); you can select to show one type of interest, or as many as you close to. You can set it to warn you (with a choice of sounds) when you attain near one or more of these points of interests. It can inform you how fast you're driving, and can put on alert you if you speed. When you plan a route, you can have it avoid toll roads, or anything. There is a "where am I" button that finds you on the map near just that one touch. You can enter a PIN number so a burglar won't be able to use it.
This section doesn't speak the names of the streets (the more expensive ones do). This section will say "turn departed 1/4 mile" and not "turn left 1/4 mile at Main Street." Also, as near any GPS brand, there will be some minor mistakes on the map, but on this unit you can correct errors, and later you have a choice to share your corrections beside other users the next time you connect the GPS to the TomTom website.
It have preloaded maps of the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. TomTom.com website have a lot more information.
Many stores (for example $149.99 at Staples) hold them on sale presently for about $150.00.
