How do i text a tv show onto a vhs using my combination dvd/vcr player?

The vcr says its cassette but when I go and see what i "recorded" it says no signal. I judge it has something to do near being on video 1 and because its on that it's CD a blank screen. I enjoy no idea how to sort the vcr record what it on the tv input. I enjoy rca yellow, red and white hooked up to the tv and the vcr/dvd player surrounded by video 1 (av1).

Answers:    You need an input signal to copy.
The cable signal needs to travel "in" cable box, then
"out" of cable box....after "in" to DVD/VHS, then "out" to the TV input.
This will allow you to transcript the channel thats on your cable box
Those red pale and white hookups only allow you judgment what your playing on VHS\DVD.
They do nothing for soundtrack.
Video 1 only refers to the location of the jacks you hooked up so the TV can play from that device. Video 2 could be your team game console, Video 3 could be your video camera......Again they are only used to picture things, not record.
Hi JeNNa b,

What tube are you using to try and watch your tape?

First play a pre recorded video to be sure your TV is on the correct channel for watching - usually gully 3, 4, 91 0r 92.
