What factor make worse a lithium ions mobile duration?

Ipods, cell phones, laptops rely on lithium ion batteries... i be wondering if letting the battery die out destabilized the battery time... i've been told by some that is to say does others said the battery requirements to die out to work better????

Answers:    No. Old Ni-Cd rechargable batteries have a memory effect (so did some older Ni-MH batts.) that could be cured by a full or open discharge of the batt.

But Li-Ion is the opposite. The worst piece you can do to it is deep discharge it below 2.6V and next recharge it with a typical charge current. A really smart charger will charge a highly low voltage Li-Ion battery at a tiny current until the voltage returns to a more everyday voltage, like above 2.9V.

Failing to use the tiny charge current contained by this case can snuff out the battery. You would reflect on that all clad devices would use a really smart charger. Who knows?? I enjoy a nice Panasonic cordless phone with a Ni-MH batt., and it uses a really dumb charger.
