Output be 12VDC 200ma, in a minute hold 12V 100mA12VA max..?
Power adapter busted on my midland walkie-talkies (Radios), so I bought a new one. It have a power of 6.5W, and 12VDC 200mA output. The only one I found have a volt change switch of between 1.5-12V (so I can set 12), but the Current read this -- "1000mA 12VA (max)". Will it be ok to use this to charge the old ones, even though they be 200mA? I'm not sure what the 'max' part finances.... Thanks!
Answers: Yes.
No problems.
1000mA = 1A, or one-thousand milliamps.
The "Max" part medium that the maximum load on this adapter is not to exceed 1000mA, or 1-amp.
If your behind the times adapter was rate for 200mA, then this is 0.2A(Amps), so the latest adapter can supply 5 times that current at maximum load, so plugged into your walkie-talkie, the nouns will be 200mA or so, which equals one fifth of the total load proficiency of the new adapter you bought.
Therefore, when used beside your walkie-talkies, the load on the latest adapter you bought, will only be 20% of maximum nouns.
No problems.
