Will a HD DVD work within a regular DVD player?

Hi!
I bought a HD DVD on eBay and my husband says it will solitary work on a HD DVD player. We only own a regular one and a Blue Ray. Will it work on either?

Answers:    No it won't work on any player. Blueray is high def but the format is different from HD DVD. Sorry.
no - you involve an HD-DVD player to play HD-DVD's, as the lens that is required to read the disc is different.
