Is the Bose WAVE II near compact disc player worth the $$$?

Just bought my mum the Bose Wave II tabletop system with compact disc for $499 (o_O) and I don't think it be quite worth the $$. I listen to the sound talent in the store and I wasn't completely blown away. I'm used to listen to music on my sennheiser PRO headphones or my 2.1 Cambridge Soundworks system, both of which be much cheaper and better sound competence.

Think I should return it and get somethin else for her? It seem like a sub $100 Sony would do alike exact thing.. in recent times hook up some auxiliary speakers and the sound is even better..

Opinions, especially from owners of the Bose system? Thanks.

Answers:    it is worth perchance 75% of the $. unless your rich or your mom is a music fanitic, return it and get one for 150$ cheaper and close to duplicate quality
Also be aware that KLH speakers are made by BOSE.
It is nearby cheaper version of big quality speakers to get hold of the lower market share they have been losing to heaps other companies.

It's unfair to even try and compare the nouns quality from a set of big quality phone to a tabletop system. Apples and oranges my friend. I would go near the cheaper system though unless your girlfriend is a dedicated music afficienado.
