Why do family consider it a bleak theory to catch an extended warranty?

I bought an MP3 player in December 2005. Following everyone's proposal I did not get the extended warranty covering everything. I dropped the article 4 months later and broke it. Had I get the freakin' insurance I would have be fine. I had to buy another one. To this afternoon I continue kicking myself within the *** over that one.

I'm asking now because I plan on buying a $2,000 laptop and I will for sure be getting the extended warranty. I don' t care how much extra it is.


Answers:    I ALWAYS bring extended warranty cause you purely never know! People tell me it is a gamble away of money also but I'd rather be safe and sound than sorry. My one friend told me that she never gets the extended warranty because the manufacturer make the product so that it will finishing the amount of time that they list for the extended warranty. So if you purchase 4 years of warranty it will closing 4 years and then start to break after that time time of year. Weird theory if you ask me! My boyfriend and I other always other get extended warranty...you can fix together us!
Because if you drop your laptop, that extended warranty won't cover it. That's the big kicker... most of the problems you'll have, will be problems that you cause by adding software, abuse the system, or maybe trying to upgrade. Chances are, doesn`t matter what happens to it won't be covered. An Extended Warranty is NOT insurance.

On a saloon, your warranty covers defects surrounded by the manufacturing. But you enjoy insurance to cover your own mistakes. It works the same passageway here.

I'm heading to the bestbuy website right now, for another idea altogether, and i'll take a look at it. If it REALLY does cover disfavour you do to it yourself, then it might not be such a desperate idea.
