Which is better 1080i or 720p?
Answers: 1080i is 1920/1080 while 720 is 1280/720. which looks better to you? seriously interlaced and progressive is miniscule contained by difference unless you have a gigantic tv and sit 2 foot away. 1080i is sharper and clearer, 720 is more of a broadcast resolution and for games that would make the ps3 droop at 1080 resolutions.
I believe that 1080i, which stands for 1080 (lines of resolution) interlaced, is better that 1080p, which stands for 1080 (lines of resolution) progressive.
And as to answer your question, 1080i will deliver a picture next to more quality, but if you hold an HDTV capable of simply 720p, then setting your resolution output to 1080i will not gross a difference.
So...if you do indeed have a true HDTV, which should display at 1080i, after I would choose 1080i.
If you don't know the resolution of your television, consent to me help... if you not long bought your TV and it happens to be an LCD peak TV, there is a appropriate chance specifically true high definition and contained by fact 1080i. If you bought a voluminous plasma screen small screen and payed less than four or five imperial, you probably have a 720p output display.
If you don't know, it won't wound your TV to set your PS3's output at 1080i.
Good luck and enjoy your big definition gaming...
1080i is better, the number represents the vertical pixil size of the screen such as 720 represents simply 720 and 1080 is much greater. hope i was helpfull
