You can then salvage it as a WMV file and burn it to a DVD.

Micsoft Movie Maker 2.1 and Micsoft Photo Story 3 are both built-in programs of window, if you have on one, purely need to update your system. There are both free, but they can't burn slideshow to DVD but, you have to use another DVD burner, Nero is powerful to burn DVD.
