How do you progress from "type: MP4 File" to AVI??

I put type: MP4 File to my mp4 player and it don't work and there already is a video on within that works and it's AVI, so how to I get the "MP4 File to an AVI?

Answers:    Both AVI and MP4 are directory containers, that is, they support diverse codecs (WMV, DV, H.264, etc.) . Plus, your player may support mp4 files, but maybe lower than a restricted picture resolution and bit rate (say, 360x240, and below 4 Mbits/s).
So, you really need to read particularly carefully the specs of the player and find out the following:
Max. picture resolution
Max bit rate
Supported codecs (MPEG-4, H.264, wmv, etc.)
Supported profile formats
Then you will be ready to create files that can be played on your player.
