Model rocket engine question/electronics?

i bought some model rocket engines. you are supposed to ignite one at a time(in the rocket) with the 9v battery-operated provided. i have tape together 6 and am wondering if the 9v will still ignite all 6? or will it not enjoy enough liquid to do that? IF NOT how should i go around getting the juice? i do own a 9.6v r/c battery...

Answers:    You're attempting whats specified as a cluster launch. If by 9 volt you mean the standard little transistor radio battery-operated probably not. You have several issues to address. First stale unless they're AAA engines with 6 engines your rocket will be above the reccomended bulk limit, but I'll assume you're aware of that and not mention it again. The typical problem next to a cluster launch is to get adjectives the engines to ignite at the same time. Normally a cluster is 3 and contained by my experience about 30-40% of the time at lowest 1 fails to ignite, The problem next to 6 is your engines are getting further from the rockets centerpoint which means if any of the "outer engines" fall through to fire the trust will be unbalanced and the flight footsteps chaotic. With adjectives that being said, when I started near model rockets in the 70's we frequently launch with 6, 9 or 12 volt lantern battery and at times would even draw the launch current from the batter of the car we drove to the launch site. You can well make your own launch system next to some power cord (I suggest at least 20ft), aligator clips and a doorbell button. Note the need of an "armed" light and safekeeping key found on the modern systems. Be sure the cable are disconnected from the battery when connecting the clips to the ignitors for the rocket engines. If you do fire this item off be sure to enjoy some place to dive for cover because there is no guarentee adjectives the outer engines will fire and the resulting flight can be very chancy.

Ahh, on a skateboard make a big difference. Are you attempting to power the skateboard by itself or with someone on it? If someone is going to be on it don't expect much, rocket engines are stingy to move a lightwieght rocket fighting purely gravity and air resitance attach in the inertia of a soul and it doesn't have much force, unless you're using amuteur rocktry engines and not model rocket engines surrounded by which case you wouldn't want 6. If you plan to own someone on it don't forget to have a blast shield contained by front of the engines so nobody gets adjectives when the parachute ejection charge goes bad, or next stage ignition charge is you're using boosters.
I other used a car mobile to make sure they ignite all at once the more liquid you can give them especially when they are "daisy chained" the better...Good luck!
