Police scanner better signal?
i have a pro-91 radio shack police scanner and have a cb radio antenna, is there any way if i hook that up i should be able to get better reception Im tryin to reach about 60 miles away, if it will help tell me how to hook it up and the best place to hook it up i would like to keep the atenna inside of my house. Thanks
Answer: A cb antenna is tuned for the 27 Mhz CB band. You aren't going to receive other frequencies very well.
60 miles is pushing it. Especially with modern 800 Mhz sysytems... it's probably not going to happen.
You'd need an outdoor antenna very high in the air, made especially for scanning.
You should be able to get local stuff though, although that won't help you trying to reach the 60 mile away stuff.
