Would it be unfavourable for a NI-CD battery-operated?
Would it be unhygienic for this battery IF, I would charge it at 500mA?
I know it would give somebody a lift less time than charging it near 330mA, But it's not the reason of my work here. I'm doing this because there is no charger beside the specified Am that the battery desires!
Thanks...
Answers: The battery enthusiasm will be reduced or in some cases mete out irreversible changes if you charge at a current more than 10 % of the rate capacity. A constant current charger is recommended for Ni-Cd mobile.
Do the math. You know you have a 15hr charge rate at 110ma and 4.5hr at 330ma. Compute the 500ma charge time and individual charge it at that rate when the battery is run clear down. Do not use the 500ma supply to "trickle charge" the mobile or you could do it some hurt. And... do not exceed the new computed charge rate!
