Answers: I've used several brands of digital cameras at work. So far, I am most pleased with Cannon cameras and own one myself that I really similar to. You should be able to receive a pretty good camera for below 300 bucks, unless of course you are really into photography fairly than just point and shoot picture taking.
Photoshop is of late one of many softwares that allow manipulation of the picture. I use several free (freeware and shareware) programs as powerfully as the programs that come with the camera. They respectively have at hand plusses and minusses. For a lot of stuff I use the Gimp but you should realize photomanipulation fairly all right before going that route.
Another piece, you should save your photos as tif a bit than jpeg until you get your final performance, because each time you amass jpeg you lose a little power.
Nikon cameras are good htey ebb and flow around $250 for hte good description last time I checked. My friend get one from best buy for like $180, but I don't really trust something that doesn't come from a fitting manufacturer, hers doesn't even hold a label. Try a camera store...
