Can I charge my North American Nintendo DS lite surrounded by a Chinese outlet? It fits..but...?

... I don't want to risk damaging it. Is this risk-free or unwise?


Answers:    Most street lamp weight a/c adapters are of the switching type and enjoy a full range of 100-240v. The immense a/c adapters use a simple transformer and will only work properly at a single input voltage. Check the markings on the charger and it will read out if its single voltage or full range.

The US uses 120v, 60Hz.
China uses 220v, 50Hz.
Mine be OK (American one bought in China) but I needed an adaptor because the American charger just lasted a second when plugged contained by. Even if it were to smash up the DS, this would only be the battery-operated and replacements are readily avaiable in China
