Help! I obligation some ones step by step assistance to connect my TV - cable box - VCR - & DVD adjectives together!?

****Its a new Toshiba plasma TV. - next to HD

*** I have DirectTV satelite, a DVD player, & a VCR. I necessitate to connect these 3 devices to the TV.

*** I get really confused nearly which wire where on earth - ? - Example: do I use the yellow/red/white cords? & do they go from the VCR & DVD to the posterior of the TV or to the satelite reciever box?

**** when I bought the TV the sales guy have me buy some component cords -? They're blue/green/red (i think!) what do they carry plugged into?

I really just necessitate some one to tell me where on earth & to what everything gets wired!!??!!
