Is it unpromising to move an electronic device on overnight?

When I was a kid I be told that it would hurt the machine to will it on. Is that true or a hoax?


Answers:    The additional roast will cause the circuity to age faster, and the bearing in the fan will wear out sooner (which could cause a grill build up that could fry everything).

It's like departing your car running overnight within that it wastes strength.

Be aware that shutting the computer or other device down doesn't actually turn it sour. That's why things like VCR's wind up up with blinking lights if the power go out for a while.
You have to also turn the surge protector bad, or unplug the device(s)

The energy reserves will be minimal, but if 300 million people cut hindmost on small things like this, it really add up. You could shut down a couple of nuke or coal-fired plants.
Most electronic devices will not be harmed by leaving them on overnight, or even indefinitely. Your wallet might be harmed when your electricity bill comes contained by, though.

Overheating is the biggest risk. If the device's cooling system is in polite working order, nearby shouldn't be any problem with departure it turned on.
It is bad to vacate a computer on. the fans can burn out really efficiently
