i live in south london and want to convert a vhs i hold to dvd. i have looked on the internet for places to dispatch it off to but i'd prefer to steal it into a shop. are there any highstreet shops that do this or will i hold to send it bad?

Answers:    Just buy a DVD recorder (usually fairly cheap) and hook it up to your vhs and hey presto!
If you own a lot of VHS to verbs to DVD you would be cheaper buying a VHS/DVD recorder out of Argos. Just insert VHS and a DVD and press record. You can buy DVD's within singles or packets of 5.
capture a dvd recorder get a scart organize put 1 end contained by back dvd recorder & other wrap up in hindmost video change press imput or av on video remote after simply play video & press record on dvd
they hold players where you insert VHS, put contained by a blank DVD+-R, and it'll record the VHS to DVD. Those cost $40 to $100 USD. Over here it may be 50GBP+. If you're going to do this more than a few times, it's worth it to get the player.

Otherwise, I'd dream of you could try looking for stores that have any dealing beside electronics, like stores that repair video players, or dealer who sell them. They're bound to volunteer the services you're looking for
Here's one at Asda http://www.asda-electricals.co.uk/shop/p...

If you've only get one VCR tape to copy, a stationer or camera shop might enjoy the facility (it's usually advertised on a board somewhere). Or transport out an email to your friends - maybe one of them have a machine similar to the one on my join and will do it for free.

Make sure you pop the write-protect on your VCR tape up to that time handing it over to anyone. Better still - create a copy.

Finally, this link is to a US site that advertise a gizmo for connecting VCR to PC for digital conversion: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/howto... for some reason they appear to be four times the price on uk websites.
I don't know, but if there is one place to find that out, it's at www.videohelp.com You can ask your sound out there and someone will guide you. It's a site for ethnic group around the world, but I think the owner of the site is from the UK. He/she uses the PAL format.
Buy a DVD recorder. You can draw from them quite cheap. Connect it to the Video recorder via scart head. Insert your video into the player. Insert blank DVD disk into DVD recorder. Press play on the video and press record on the DVD recorder. Then newly leave it to run its course.
