I live in an apartment near two other people. I do alot of cassette and mixing in my room but predominantly go through earphones to minimize complaints. I'm starting to record my vocals which medium there is going to be some hullabaloo. I know I can't completely soundproof my room since it is an apartment and I can't really do anything permanent... So the request for information is, what is a cheap/effective/ way to atleast minimize the nouns from vocals enough where on earth I can atleast do some vocals at decent hours lacking getting too many complaints?? Thank you totally much for listening and quality free to give me any answers you ca reckon of...I'm open to adjectives suggestions!!
Answers: Try attaching cardboard egg-trays to foam rubber sheeting and covering your walls/ceilings with that (you'll obligation a lot of egg trays and foam rubber) - the theory is that the irregular shapes of the egg trays will disperse the sound and the foam rubber will help out to absorb it instead of transmitting it through the walls. May also lend a hand with the nouns quality of your recordings too (less echo).
