Amazon Kindle: Worth the price?

I want an ebook reader, but they have other been prohibitively expensive. The Kindle is $400 (as much as a playstation or an xBox), and adjectives it does is read books and download reading materials.

Is it worth it? How easy is it to read free materials downloaded bad the internet?

Answers:    Only you can determine if it is worth the price.
If you travel a lot and want to carry like mad of books and would rather hold them on one device; If you subscribe to a newspaper close to NY Times or Wall St. Journal in assimilation to reading ebooks it may be worth it to you.

How much is convenience worth to you?

To me, I can't justify the price when I read in the order of 30 books per year and buy most of those books used at around 50 cents a copy. Also I don't take mass transportation to work so I can't read while I am driving anyway.

I would be of a mind to fork over a hundred bucks for the device just to own the convenience of being competent to read a book and turn the page with one paw and being competent to adjust the font size would help me read faster for some of those tiny print mass open market paperbacks.

Maybe in a year or two when the price comes down and some hack ebooks turn up on the internet (Shhhh!) I would definitely consider buying the kindle.
dunno
