Vcr repair! long waiting time of year?
I have a nv-sd2 panasonic and the capstan motor explicitly to be delivered from the facotry is taking really long to arrive, already 13 days enjoy past and its be in the repair shop within sydney.

Answers: Not uncommon for a motor or video director or any of the "special order" parts to take for a while longer than your regular replacement parts. Add to it, the shipping, if it's in the correspondence it you can add a couple more days to that.
Is that Sydney, Cape Breton? If so afterwards I think the parts used to come out of Montreal OR be backordered from other Panasonic outlets. I actually wait MUCH longer than that for Quasar parts (both had alike parent company-Matsushita).
When I worked at one TV station (we're talking professional equipment, not consumer) I have to wait 14 weeks for a fragment from JVC. I was not glad and one of the reasons, as a professonal, I won't work beside JVC equipment.
Still, on a consumer level, VCR's are essentially antiquated and special parts will take seriously longer. Some more commonly replaceable parts are better bought from a national supply location, such as Newark Electronics or MCM Electronics, but that pertains mostly to belts, pulleys, tray parts, etc. Motors are less adjectives.
And, as somebody in Melbourne pointed out to me one time, Australia is not as immense a market as the US is, and so customer service from manufacturer isn't as enthusiastic as it should be.
