What audio equipment do I requirement to show a movie outdoors for long period of time?
I already have the mics and whatnot.. I newly need to know portable audio capturers (whatever they are called) that can text from serveral different microphones.
Battery life / durability = significant.
Thank you so much!
Answers: I'm just concerned, how come you already 'own the mics and whatnot' but don't know anything about the right recorder? For angelic audio, the challenge is picking the right microphone (and the right one, approaching a Sennheiser MK416, would cost you more than the recorder).
Go with a DAT recorder or a MiniDisc, or if you're opinion retro, a Nagra - heavy and bulky, but *extremely* reliable.
Actually, the best for you would probably a solid-state recorder. Low within battery, markedly durable, and excellent quality. Something resembling a Nagra ARES BB or a Sound Devices 744T, an industry favorite.

Even if this is outside price range, it'll furnish you a good conception what to look for, and these sites are great resources. Don't forget you can rent...
Is this audio to go along near the film? Actually picture or video?
If it's video, use digital, a good camera, and story the audio there, it's greatly high power.
If you're recording audio one and only, look into portable digital recorders resembling a portable DAT, hard disk, or compact flash base system.
