Answers:    Tethering is when you use your cell phone for you computer to connect to the internet. I'm not sure about AT&T, but I hold Sprint, and the contract states that if they figure out you are doing this, you will be charged by kb, even if you hold unlimited internet. I recommend you don't tether.
i heard AT&T will charge you for tethering. you might own to sign up for their "laptop plans" as they call or something. next to t-mobile and my then blackberry pearl it be free. did it all the time beside my MacBook.

the process is to get your phone setup next to your laptop via bluetooth or use a USB cable and dial out to your provider to connect. search for the process online.
