Will wifi on a Blackberry 8830 work in need a BB facts plan or voice plan?
Answers: The black berry is great phone with heaps capabilities and far smaller amount problems than any other Phone/PDA running on windows mobile or any other soft wear. however, If your friend is liable to spend a fortune to buy a BB just so she could use it for it's Wifi nouns she might want to reconsider buying a PDA. she will soak up the more interactive Internet browser. as you know the BB browser is a "text only" browser. on a pda she can also listen to live e-broadcast radio or listen to music, play e-games and much more. not to mention that she might not even be capable of use the wifi on a "no service" BB specially from Verizon. if she really want a BB she'd better buy one compatible with her cellphone service shipper and use it as her primary phone. otherwise she is just waisting her money
The BB 8830 model does not support "WiFi," specifically a wireless network nouns such as is used in businesses close to Starbucks or you can set up in your home beside a wireless router.
The BB 8830 does have a "wireless internet notes connection" that must be enabled by your service provider (and it is usually not free).
There are BB's that have built surrounded by WiFi support, that will allow you to connection to an available WiFi service and surf the web that way. I believe here is a 8800 series coming out soon, the 8820, that will have WiFi support.
