Dictaphones and MP3 or 4 players?

i want to get a dictaphone. have surfed a bit i found that some MP3 players have voice record attributes. olympus do a good compass of dictaphone. i want the ones where i can use a USB to store voice recordings on my laptop and afterwards to CD or memory stick. have anyone else used a dictaphone? or voice recording MP3 player? contained by the lb50 range. (or smaller amount if poss)
