I only bought a Blackberry 8100 and i involve assistance loading music and pics onto it?

When ever I use the application loader to load a song on my blackberry i gain the there is an XML syntax error on column 1 error. By the way im trying to upload songs that are on itunes. also i bring back the same error when i try to upload pictures. Does it merely accept application loader files profile type? How would I convert my music to alx
