I want a Mobile GPS?

I saw a video on youtube of a guy that had a GPS on his phone, and he be standing on a street, and his phone showed a map of where he be...and as he moved, the arrow on the map moved. I am planning on going backpacking through Europe with some friends this summer, and it will be the first time I enjoy ever been in that. I thought this would be very effective. If I got the service for my phone, would it even work surrounded by Europe? If not, do they sell portable GPS devices that would do this? If so - what is the most affordable model? I want something cheap - since I would simply be getting it for the trip, but I want it to work.

Answers:    Get a TomTom. Verizon and AT&T phones with GPS will solely work in the continuous 48 states. Make sure the TomTom you receive includes maps of Europe.
I know for the Sony Ericsson phone K800i, you can use the trellis browser to download a new google application for mobile phone map. Then using your k800 phone, you install the downloaded google application, and use it from your phone as a gps using google maps. a awfully neat application.
