Since DVR is a "technology" and TIVO is a "brand" name, it seem like this category should echo the name of the technology and not purely one of the players (albeit the largest one) in the flea market.
Answers: Ehh yeah... makes sense. But I judge people do better near associating one popular brand name beside the entire technology. It's like how we beckon bandages "Band-Aids", or tissues "Kleenex". Or how nation in the South phone every type of soda, "a Coke". I think it simply helps individuals out when they see TiVO, 'cause they don't know what DVR is.
