Dish HD Top 250 Programming?

i was wondering why do u inevitability to have CallerID to find an HD receiver for DishNetwork? whats the point of it? and how much does the equipment cost? how much do u win charged for it per month? and if anyone has Dish HD near the top 250 programming how much the cost is monthly? do u need to bring in an 18 month commitment? or is that only if u want the 6 free months of HD?
